Satin Pothos / Scindapsus pictus

সাতিন পথোস (SCINDAPSUS PICTUS) সবথেকে সহজ ইনডোর গাছগুলির মধ্যে একটি। 
 

অন্যান্য পথোস এর মতো এই সাতিন পথোস ও Arum ফ্যামিলি এর অন্তর্গত।

সাতিন পথোস লতানো প্রকৃতির হয়।
 

বোটানিক্যাল নাম : Scindapsus Pictus

সাধারণ চলতি নাম : সাতিন পথোস, সিল্ক পথোস, সিলভার পথোস, সিলভার ফিলোডেনড্রন

ধরন : বহুবর্ষজীবী লতানো গাছ

পরিণত আকার  : ৪ ফুট থেকে ১০ ফুট পর্যন্ত লম্বা হতে পারে।

সূর্যালোকের পরিমাণ : উজ্জ্বল পরোক্ষ আলো। সরাসরি সূর্যের আলোতে গাছের পাতা তাদের বৈচিত্র্য হারায় এবং ঝলসে যায়।

মাটি প্রস্তুতি :  ৩৫% ভার্মি কম্পোস্ট, ৩৫% লাল বালি , ২০% কোকোপিট, ৫% পিট মস, ৫% পারলাইট এবং এর সাথে ১/২ চা চামচ সিঙ্গেল সুপার ফসফেট এবং ১ চা চামচ সর্ষে খোল গুঁড়ো মিশিয়ে নিতে হবে। 

জলের ব্যবস্থাপনা :  অতিরিক্ত জল পছন্দ করেনা। অতিরিক্ত জল হলে পাতা হলুদ হয়ে যায় এবং লতাগুলি শুকিয়ে যায়।

যখন পটিং মিক্স এর উপরের ২ ইঞ্চি শুকিয়ে যাবে , তখন সাধারণ তাপমাত্রার জল ধীরে ধীরে দিতে হবে যতক্ষণ না নিচের ড্রেনেজ হোল দিয়ে জল বেরিয়ে যাচ্ছে।

তাপমাত্রা এবং আর্দ্রতা : সাতিন পথোস গ্রীষ্মমণ্ডলীয় উদ্ভিদ অর্থাৎ এই উদ্ভিদ উষ্ণ এবং আর্দ্রতা পছন্দ করে। এই উদ্ভিদ ১৮-৩০ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস তাপমাত্রায় সবচেয়ে ভালোভাবে বৃদ্ধি পায়। শীতকালে এর বৃদ্ধি কম হয়ে থাকে। এবং শুষ্ক বাতাসে এই গাছের পাতা বাদামি হয়ে যায়।

৪০% - ৫০% আপেক্ষিক আর্দ্রতা এই গাছের জন্য উপযুক্ত। আর্দ্রতা বাড়াতে এই গাছের পট একটি ট্রে তে রাখুন এবং সেই ট্রে তে জল এবং পেবলস দিয়ে রাখুন কিন্তু খেয়াল রাখতে হবে যাতে গাছের শিকড় ট্রে তে থাকা জল স্পর্শ না করে।

নিয়মিত জল স্প্রে না করাই শ্রেয় কারণ এতে গাছের এরিয়াল রুট গুলি আর্দ্রতা শোষণ করে এবং এর ফলে ওভার ওয়াটারিং এর সমস্যা হয়।

সার এর ব্যবস্থাপনা : এই গাছ বৃদ্ধির মরশুম অর্থাৎ বসন্ত থেকে শরৎ কাল পর্যন্ত প্রতি মাসে একবার সার দেওয়া প্রয়োজন : এন পি কে ২০-১০-১০ অথবা ২০-২০-২০ এই ওয়াটার সলিউবল সার ১ লিটার জল এ ১ চা চামচ মিশিয়ে তার থেকে ২৫০ মিলি গাছের মাটিতে দিতে হবে।
  

How to Grow Satin Pothos (Scindapsus pictus)

Satin pothos (Scindapsus pictus), just like its botanical cousin pothos (Epipremnum aureum) is one of the easiest houseplants to grow. Both are members of the Arum family. They are evergreen tropical vines that are not cold-tolerant. That’s why pothos is usually grown indoors.

Botanical Name : Scindapsus pictus

Common Name : Satin pothos, silk pothos, silver pothos, silver philodendron

Plant Type : Perennial vine

Mature Size : Four to ten feet length

Sun Exposure : Bright Indirect light. When exposed to full direct sun, its leaves will lose their variegation and get scorched.

Soil Requrement : 35% vermi compost + 35% Yellow sand + 20% cocopeat + 5% peat moss + 5% Perlite and add 1/2 of Tea spoon Phosphate and 1 full of tea spoon Mustard Cake Powder with these.

Watering :  When watering satin pothos, the key is to avoid overwatering, which will manifest itself by yellow leaves and the vine wilting. Water only when the top two inches of the soil feel dry to the touch—poke your finger into the soil to check. Water slowly and deeply with room-temperature water until you see water seeping out of the drain holes.#gogreenkol 

Temparature & Humidity : Satin pothos is a tropical plant, which means it needs warmth and humidity. The ideal growth temperature ranges from 65 to 85 degrees F. At a lower temperature, it will suffer cold damage and die. In dry air, the leaf tips can turn brown. 

40 to 50% relative humidity around your plant is ideal. You can increase the humidity by placing the pot on a tray filled with pebbles and water, but in a way that the roots are not exposed to the water.

Misting Scindapsus pictus to increase humidity is not recommended because the aerial roots also absorb moisture so it might result in overwatering. 

Ferilizer : During the growing season, from spring to fall, fertilize the satin pothos about once a month : Take 1 tea spoon N.P.K. 20-10-10 or 20-20-20 water soluble fertlizer and mix well with 1 liter of water and give the plant's soil 250 ml from this once in a month.
